CINCY Black Pride
CINCY Black Pride 2020 - Do Black Lives Matter
Cincinnati Black Pride & EQUALITY OHIO presents a town hall meeting. Do All Black Lives Matter? is a conversation with a diverse panel of leaders in Cincinnati speaking to the question. Amid the fight for Black lives, a movement started and advanced, in part, by Black queer women, there is still sexism, homophobia, and transphobia among many that suggest the lives of some Black people aren't as valuable as others. How do we fight for the injustices of unarmed Black men who have been killed at the hands of law enforcement while also acknowledging that Black women, and members in the Black LGBTQ+ community, particularly trans folks, are also victims? What can we do as a community to stop police brutality? From protest to voter mobilization, boycotting to coalition building, understanding that it will take multiple strategies - we will discuss it all.
This Is Why I Vote
In a little over 30 days, Cincinnati Black Pride had the opportunity to impact the direction of our country. One of the key ways is by voting on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. We have all been inundated with carefully crafted concerns and fears about the upcoming election. We at Cincinnati Black Pride want to ensure that as a community, we are informed about what is at stake and how that influences not only how we vote but for some, even if they will vote.
